We are pleased to announce the latest updates for the SIMATIC S7-200 SMART G2 PLC family. The product lineup is expanded with the new SR24 relay-output CPU, plus a full set of newly launched expansion modules and signal boards. With V3.3 firmware, S7-200 SMART G2 gains UL certification and upgraded motion control & debugging features, offering higher flexibility for transistor and relay output applications.
New Hardware: CPU SR24 & Accessories
The new CPU SR24 (Order No. 6ES7288-1SR24-0AA0) is an AC/DC/Relay CPU featuring 16 * 24 V DC digital inputs and 8 * relay outputs. It complements the existing ST32 transistor CPU, supporting high-speed pulse control and relay load driving for diverse machinery applications.
Newly released accessories include EM DR08 relay output module, EM DT08 transistor output module, EM DE08 digital input module, EM AM03 AI/AO mixed module, EM AQ02 analog output module, EM DT16 DI/DO module, SB AE01 analog input signal board and SB BA01 battery signal board.
Key V3.3 Firmware Upgrades
1. UL Certification Added
S7-200 SMART G2 V3.3 now has UL certification. It streamlines export compliance work, reduces certification barriers and speeds up global market expansion. Certification validity is subject to markings on physical products.
2. IRT Axis Group Motion Control
It supports Cartesian axis group control without complex coordinate conversion for multi-axis synchronization. 2D/3D linear and circular interpolation are available for dispensing, cutting and material handling. Aborting, Buffered and Blending motion modes ensure smooth continuous motion. New circular motion instructions simplify programming, and auxiliary axes support synchronized control with external mechanisms.
3. Enhanced Trace Functionality
Trace sampling cycles down to 1ms to capture transient motion errors. The new 2D composite mode enables multi-variable analysis to locate faults quickly. Trace data can be saved to SD card upon trigger for fault reproduction, and automatic trace reactivation helps catch intermittent machine faults.
4. Higher Engineering Efficiency
Batch import of I/O variable tables cuts repetitive configuration work. The new "Close All Monitoring" function optimizes online debugging. Engineers can rapidly upgrade software and manage versions via the STEP 7-Micro/WIN SMART V3 Patch Tool.
